The Innovators Pavilion is an integral part of FIA’s annual Futures and Options Expo, the cleared derivatives industry’s most widely-attended event. Now in its 33rd year, Expo draws approximately 5,000 participants to Chicago and provides an exhibition space for more than 130 vendors.
Since 2015, FIA has featured 38 fintech startups in the Innovators Pavilion that harness innovation and entrepreneurship in financial markets technology. A panel of industry experts from venture capital companies and FIA member firms selected these companies through a competitive application process. In 2016, FIA added an additional level to the competition, organizing a ‘Meet the Innovators’ pitch contest where five startups vied for the title ‘FIA Expo Innovator of the Year.’ Money.net was selected as the FIA Expo Innovator of the Year and received a prize of cash and other resources valued at more than $20,000.
2017 Innovators announced!
This year's Innovators Pavilion will feature 20 fintech startups. The selected companies will be given a TechPod on the Expo show floor to display their products and services. FIA also will host a “Meet the Innovators” competition to spotlight the five most exciting companies within the Pavilion. The winner of this competition will receive more than $20,000 in cash and other resources. This year's winners provide services from artificial intelligence and augmented reality to political risk indices and cropland values. Read the press release.
TellusLabs wins FIA Innovator of the Year pitch competition!
TellusLabs has been named the FIA Innovator of the Year for 2017, receiving more than $20,000 in cash and other resources.TellusLabs was among the five firms in the Innovators Pavilion at Expo 2017 selected to present their products and services to a panel of independent judges with expertise in financial markets technology and venture capital investing. The judges unanimously chose TellusLabs for their innovative approach to predicting crop yields through a combination of earth imaging data and machine learning. Read the press release.
